Friends of St Andrews Road Wetland (FoSAWR)

Friends of St Andrew’s Wetland Reserve (FoSAWR), have two events they are holding as part of his years Par Carnival events.

Friday 5th July – Friends of St Andrew’s Wetland Reserve Moth Night Moth Night

A mid-summer moth evening kindly hosted on FoSAWR’s behalf by local moth enthusiast Russ Hemmings from the Cornwall Butterfly and Moth Society.

Bring a torch, a drink, wrap up well and something to sit or kneel on. There is the prospect of recording many different species of moths including hawk moths and is hoped that a few migrant moths will make a show at the moth lights. Bring your own moth trap if you have one!

Meet at St Andrew’s Pond car park for a 9:30pm start. If there are any questions please contact Russ Hemmings on 07782 310777

Saturday & Sunday 6th & 7th July – Friends of St Andrew’s Wetland Reserve Bio-Blitz Weekend

A special event to discover and record local wildlife of St Andrew’s Wetland Reserve. There will be guided walks for you to join or use check sheets to see if you can explore and identify some of the wildlife we know lives on the reserve. We will have books etc. to help identify any flora or fauna seen. Species will be recorded and added to the species list that is being put together for the site. Refreshments will be made available by volunteers from Par Carnival Committee.

We will be centred at the Bunny Field and each day’s event will run from 11am to 4pm. Come along at any time to join in for as long as you chose. If there are any questions please contact John Page on 01726 814430
