The Charity Commission recognises that most trustees are volunteers who sometimes make honest mistakes. Trustees are not expected to be perfect – they are expected to do their best to comply with their duties. Charity law generally protects trustees who have acted honestly and reasonably.
Trustees are governed by the UK Charity Act and must Act in your charity’s best interests, do what they and their co-trustees (and no one else) decide will best enable the charity to carry out its purposes with their co-trustees, make balanced and adequately informed decisions, thinking about the long term as well as the short term, avoid putting themselves in a position where their duty to your charity conflicts with your personal interests or loyalty to any other person or body, not receive any benefit from the charity unless it is properly authorised and is clearly in the charity’s interests; this also includes anyone who is financially connected to you, such as a partner, dependent child or business partner.
The Trustees As Of 1st August 2026 are:
The Chair : Steve Roberts
Vice Chair: Dan Gill
The Treasurer: Lesley Sweet
Secretary: Ali Roach
Community Secretary: Cathy Woodman
