A plastic duck race is a type of festival where dozens to thousands of rubber or plastic ducks race on par canal. The event is a fundraising events in which the ducks are given numbers associated with participants so that ducks that perform well win a prize for the associated participant.

Ducks are normally sold around the end of june or on the day of the event with numbered ducks around a £1 each and named ducks around £1.50.
